Revolutionized waste management through customer-centric design, paving the way for a sustainable future.

OVERVIEW

Green Halo, a leading SaaS waste tracking and management provider, sought to enhance its platform, WasteTracking.com, for its expanding clientele, including construction firms and government agencies.

As the design consultant, I played a pivotal role in the design process—transforming concepts into user-friendly experiences, crafting a compelling visual brand, and implementing essential front-end developments. My contributions streamlined the user experience and introduced features that attracted new clients, addressed existing customers' needs, and boosted overall functionality.

CHALLENGE

The waste management industry is tightly regulated, demanding businesses monitor compliance and efficiently manage their waste. While Green Halo's cloud-based platform, WasteTracking.com, has been a valuable tool in helping clients achieve these objectives, it lacks the essential feature of real-time insights into waste and recycling activities.

The challenge was twofold:

  • Enhance the platform's functionality to deliver real-time reporting and data, while simplifying the user experience for busy, compliance-driven customers.
  • Refine the public-facing side of the platform to improve lead generation and reinforce Green Halo's credibility in a competitive industry.

OBJECTIVES

  • Enhance User Experience: Simplify the interface and improve usability, making the platform more intuitive for users managing compliance data and tracking waste metrics.
  • Add Real-Time Functionality: Implement real-time reporting tools for instant visibility into waste management activities, helping users make informed decisions.
  • Refine the Brand and Public Platform: Reimagine the platform's public-facing side to boost lead generation, convey credibility, and align with the refreshed brand.
  • Streamline Waste Tracking Process: Reduce unnecessary steps in the waste tracking workflow to save users time and improve overall efficiency..

SOLUTION

  • Collaborative Design: I teamed up with the CEO to align the platform redesign with its goals while focusing on user needs. This close partnership enabled us to incorporate feedback quickly, keeping us on track and on time..

  • Simplified Dashboard: I redesigned the Dashboard for clarity, highlighting key data like compliance status and waste diversion rates. Users can effortlessly access important information at a glance, resulting in a more engaging and user-friendly experience.
  • Real-Time Reporting: The most crucial feature update, which gave users instant insights into their waste and recycling activities—vital for users who needed up-to-the-minute data for compliance and decision-making.
  • Customizable Public Pages: I helped design a custom CMS that allowed users to personalize their public-facing pages. This gave clients more flexibility to reflect on their goals and boosted engagement.

  • Streamlined Workflow: By eliminating unnecessary fields and steps in the waste tracking process, we made the platform much more efficient. This saved users time and allowed them to focus more on their core tasks instead of administrative work.
